Literally, 'shepherd's field', Bakarthach is a paradise of peace. Weave through oak forests, boulders and dying glaciers whilst getting a glimpse of the Dhauladhar ranges. Explore around the campsite there and witness flocks of sheep grazing peacefully.

Experience the clear blue glacial lakes of Beas Kund wherein the river Beas originates. Expect great views of the Pir Panjal ranges whilst you trek. The serenity of the lakes is sure to make you forget all your worries.
What we will be doing
The itinerary
Day 1 - Drive from Manali (6,726ft) to Dhundi (9,317ft) and trek to Bakarthach (10,850ft); (5 km, 4-5 hours)
Drive towards Dhundi from Manali via Solang. Start the trek from Dhundi crossing meadows and viewing mountains, and reach Bakarthach. Spend the evening exploring the campsite there. Stay overnight at Bakarthach.
Accomodation on twin/triple sharing basis
Lunch - Dinner.

Day 2 - Trek from Bakarthach (10,850ft) to Beas Kund (12,106ft) and back; (4km, 5 hours)
After a short climb up a ridge through bhoj Patr, reach Beas Kund. Spend the day exploring the serene lakes. Later, return to the camp at Bakarthach and stay overnight.

Trek from Bakarthach to Beas Kund
Day 3 - Trek from Bakarthach to Dhundi/Solang;(2-3 hours) and drive back to Manali.
After breakfast, retrace your steps back to Solang, via Dhundi. Drive back to Manali, with fresh experiences and a feeling close to Nirvana.

When to reach?
You will be picked up from Manali bus stand at 9 AM.
How to reach?
Many buses and trains ply between various cities and Manali. You can also take a flight till Bhuntar Airport, from where Manali is 50km away.
